https://goodmoves.com/vacancy/a4s3z00000wMjcIAAS/Children-Officer S4F is seeking a committed Children Officer to provide direct and indirect support to children and young people (5-15yrs) living with Kinship care families, alongside other children affected by parental drug or alcohol misuse to promote the stability of Kinship Care. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting sessional workers and committed volunteers, all of whom work together to run our support services and social activities for vulnerable children. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering a multi-faceted programme designed to meet the immediate needs of Kinship children/young people aged 5-15. To include weekly activities and workshops which will engage children and young people in both 1-to-1/group support and recreation activities, alongside a series of approx 8 x social events/outings per annum. There is an expectation that you will be able to provide succinct verbal and written reports and attend meetings with Professionals from Education, Health and Social Services as well as other Voluntary sector organisations to support children’s and young people’s care plans. To be considered for this role you should have relevant child care experience, ideally within the community sector, be able to work flexible hours, act upon your own initiative, and have the ability to relate positively to children, young people, families, carers, social workers and other associated professionals. It is essential that you are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and have a clear understanding of safe care. You must hold a valid driving license, have unrestricted access to your own vehicle and be confident to travel by car across Stirling and surrounding areas.
